The KU-3 Viscometer by AMETEK Brookfield is a dependable and accurate instrument designed for viscosity testing of paints, coatings, inks, and similar materials. Built to meet ASTM D562 standards, it is widely used in both production environments and quality control labs.
This instrument provides digital readings in Krebs units, grams, and centipoise, giving a comprehensive view of a material’s flow behavior. Its integrated magnetic spindle coupling makes attachment and removal fast and tool-free, reducing operator error and improving efficiency.
KU-3 is extremely easy to operate: simply lower the lever to begin the measurement, and raise it to stop the motor. This functionality is especially helpful during repetitive testing. The high-resolution LED display shows measurements to 0.1 KU, 1 gram, or centipoise, ensuring precise and easy-to-read results.
With a wide measuring range—from 40 to 141 KU, 32 to 1,099 grams, and 27 to 5,274 cP—the KU-3 is suitable for a variety of applications. It also eliminates the need for calibration weights, making the instrument accessible to both experienced and new users.
For high-viscosity or paste-like materials, an optional spindle is available to expand the unit’s capabilities. KU-3 delivers high accuracy (±1% of full scale) and repeatability (±0.5%), ensuring consistent and trustworthy performance.
