Standard Probes – Efficient Tools for Amplified Ultrasonic Processing
Standard probes, also known as horns, act as mechanical amplifiers that enhance the vibration amplitude generated by the converter. When operated at resonance frequency, the probe moves along its lengthwise axis, and the amplitude – the distance the tip travels – can be adjusted through the power source.

Smaller probe tips create intense cavitation in a focused area, while larger tips cover a broader volume with lower intensity. High-gain probes offer more power than standard probes of the same size, making them ideal for demanding sample types.

All probes are made from high-grade titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V), which provides excellent strength, acoustic transmission, and resistance to corrosion and cavitation. They are autoclavable and available in two versions: threaded for interchangeable tips, and solid for handling aggressive or low surface tension liquids like solvents.

Probe tips naturally wear out over time and should be replaced as needed. Replaceable-tip probes are recommended for aqueous samples only, while solid probes can be used with all liquid types.

Available Sizes and Specifications:

Tip Diameter 13 mm (1/2″)

  • Volume: 50–250 mL

  • Amplitude: 115 µm

  • Threaded: Part No. 630-0220

  • Solid: Part No. 630-0219

Tip Diameter 19 mm (3/4″)

  • Volume: 100–500 mL

  • Amplitude: 60 µm

  • Threaded: Part No. 630-0207

  • Solid: Part No. 630-0208

Tip Diameter 25 mm (1″)

  • Volume: 200–1000 mL

  • Amplitude: 35 µm

  • Threaded: Part No. 630-0210

  • Solid: Part No. 630-0209

Smaller diameter tips create more intense cavitation in a focused area. Larger diameters generate broader but gentler energy distribution, suitable for larger volumes.
